Congratulations to all of the students that participated in both the typing challenge and DMP Arcade this year! You are all talented techies! I would also like to congratulate the recipients of this year’s technology awards. Congratulations on a fantastic year of technology!
These awards are for students who programmed games that went above and beyond for the DMP Arcade. Go to this blog post to play the games that won them these awards!
These awards are for students who earned the most practice time in their grade level during the Typing Challenge. Way to go on improving your typing speeds and accuracy!
The third graders created short films based on scenes from the class novel Little House in the Big Woods. They had such a great time learning how to edit movies in iMovie and we had a blast sharing the movies at our premier party! We even had two second grade bloggers join us as “Press” for our party!
Scroll down to watch the iMovie projects. This was such a fun way to end the year in technology, way to go third grade!
The arcade was a great success! Grades 2+ all had a chance to visit the arcade and play the games designed by sixth graders and code academy students.
Many students were inspired by the coders’ creativity and skills. I have received several requests to share the games with everyone, so all of the links to play will be pasted below.
Not only was this such a fun and engaging event for our own community, but we were also able to raise $200 towards donating technology to a special school in need through the organization Thankful Thinking. Wow! Congratulations to all who participated.
Click here for links to all of the games and enjoy! Below are the games that won awards today, you can play each one by clicking the green flag. 🙂
Take a look at these awesome digital portfolios created by students. They did a great job creating slideshows (some even made websites) to reflect on this year’s technology projects.
Don’t forget to download your child’s digital portfolio by following these steps. If you have a personal Google account, you can click on your profile picture to sign out or switch accounts.
If you don’t want to sign out of your account, you can also go to the file menu and open up a private browser window. You can use the shortcut command (ctrl for PC’s) + shift + N to open a private window in some browsers.
